Enjoying His GRACE
Knowing His BIBLE
Building His CHURCH

Our Story

We would like to share something of the story of how God has been at work building Grace Bible Church Corinda.

Under God, Grace Bible Church Holland Park was experiencing rapid growth around the same time that our founding pastor finished theological study.  It seemed wise to plant a church as part of the solution to the “growing problem” (pun intended).

Four couples initially committed to moving anywhere in Brisbane to plant a new church.  They approached one particular home group based in the western suburbs of Brisbane who had been actively praying about the possibility of planting a church in their area for many years.  The idea was warmly received and these people formed the core of the new church.

In July 2013, our church was planted in the suburb of Forest Lake with the purpose of reaching the western suburbs of Brisbane.  The first service of Cornerstone Bible Church was held on Sunday 21 July 2013 in the garage of some members.  We began with 26 adults and 29 children.

The following week, we moved into the hall of Forest Lake State High School where we continued to meet for the next three-and-a-half years.  We officially launched to the public on the Easter weekend of 2014.  During this time, the Lord established the church and grew us in maturity and numbers.

In 2016, the members of Corinda Christian Assembly approached us about relocating and continuing ministry Corinda.  After much prayer, deliberation and planning, the members and regular attendees unanimously made the decision to move at a meeting on 20 November 2016.

The first service was held at our new location at 75 Hassall Street, Corinda on 12 February 2017.  The change in location as well as having our own building has changed the ‘shape’ of our ministry, though our core commitment to teach the Scriptures and live in light of what Jesus has done remains unchanged.

We look forward to seeing how the Lord might use our church to spread the gospel in our part of the city in the future.  Perhaps you would like to be a part of this next chapter?
